Commencement Information

The next graduate Commencement ceremony will be in afternoon oh Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Gampel Pavilion. Information concerning this ceremony will be posted to this site by mid-February.

Planning to complete a degree this semester?

The Degree Completion process is handled through the UConn Student Administration System. To apply for degree completion, log in to the Student Administration System and complete these four steps:

Navigate to the Apply for Graduation page

SA Self-Service --> Learner Services --> Academics --> Apply for Graduation
Complete the fields on this page and save it.

Check your name for correct spelling and form.

Navigate to the Names page (SA Self-Service --> Personal Portfolio --> Tasks --> Names
To have a different name on your diploma & Commencement Program, click the link and enter a Diploma Name, then save the page.

Check your current mailing address.

Navigate to the Addresses page (SA Self-Service --> Personal Portfolio --> Tasks --> Addresses
If you are planning to move following completion of your degree, enter your new address and the date your new address will be effective.

Let us know your post-graduation plans.

Navigate to the Work Plans page (SA Self-Service --> Personal Portfolio --> Tasks --> Work Plans
Enter your intended employer and your job title.
Enter the country, city, and state of employment.
If you are uncertain of any of these, enter as much as you know.

We will use this information to complete your degree, to mail your diploma to you, to communicate with you in the future, and to improve graduate program quality.
